Coloring with daddy

Nothing is impossible!

Jesus looked at them and said, With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
-Matthew 19:30

I can't even begin to comprehend Gods power and ability. I tend to see the impossibility of a situation and forget that God is capable of anything. There are so many stories in my life of times when I seemed to be facing an impossible situation. I don't like the doubt that I have sometimes. I wish that I would just trust in God no matter what circumstance I find myself in. I am getting better though. As I lean more on God and draw closer to Him, I am learning to trust Him more every day. I may not always understand the reason for why things happen, but I know that God does, and that is enough for me. He has a plan! Currently, Tim and I seem to be in an impossible situation with selling our home. We want to expand our family, but live in a tiny house. We are wanting to sell our home, but can't get out of it what we owe....just like everyone else out there. We can't rent it out for what we need to make the payments and HOD's. We are trusting that God has a plan for our "impossible situation". He already knows what's going to happen, and if it's meant to be, He will solve this impossible situation. As for now, we will continue to be content with where we are. We know that we are very blessed to have a home right now.

A Quiet Response

Several months ago, I started writing weekly devotions in our blog. I only did it a few times though. This time I thought I'd write in daily devotions and prayers. Below is the verse/prayer/thought for today.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. -Proverbs 15:1

Sometimes, when I'm cleaning up one mess, my child is in the next room making an even bigger mess. It makes me want to scream...not all of the time...but sometimes, and sometimes I do. I know that only makes the situation worse. Tess gets all worked up, and I just get more upset. I pray that you will help me Lord to stay calm and deal with these frustrations in a quiet response. A quiet response will get greater results.

I should know from experience. When I've made a mess of things, You God, have spoken gently through Your word and through the Holy Spirit. I know I like that better than a screaming, belittling voice. Remind me that my children would prefer that as well.

...and let the baking begin!

Every year about this time, I start getting the urge to bake, and when I say bake...I mean bake. Last October, November, and December much of my time was spent in our kitchen baking. I made too many breads, pies, cookies, cakes, fudge, rolls, etc... to count. This last week, I made my first batch of spritz cookies of the year...many more to follow.

I'm really looking forward to baking this year because Tess is now old enough to help...well, kind of. She helped put the sprinkles on the cookies. She also helped her daddy eat cookie dough. :-)

another beautiful fall day...another park to play

With all of this beautiful fall weather we've been having, we're finding ourselves at the park more often than this summer. This morning we met up with some mom's and kiddo's from my MOPS group.

I love the leaves this time of the year.

Spooner Farms

This last weekend was gorgeous! We took full advantage of all the sun and ventured out with some friends to a pumpkin farm. The kids had a blast, and so did we. Tessa wanted to take home all of the pumpkins.

It took her a while, but Tess finally found one she really wanted.

An indoor kind of weekend...

This weekend, we didn't get much accomplished, but had fun. Friday, evening we spent doing a little shopping and went to one of our favorite eating spots. The "12 Ave Cafe". It may not be fancy, but they have the best burgers...plus our waitress is the best! Saturday and Sunday we had a great breakfast...made by no other than our very own Tim. We enjoyed lots of family time this weekend. As most of you know, Tim has been taking a class at the U of W in preparation for a big exam at the end of the month. So, Sundays have been our time to re-connect as a family. We took lots of very random photos this weekend. Here are a few.

Tess, already for bed.

Look daddy, I think these fit...
With the weather changing fast, we thought it high time we get Tess a new winter coat.

Happy 4th Babe!!!

Last week was our 4th wedding anniversary (Sept. 30th). I can't believe I've been married to my best friend for 4 years. It feels like I've known Tim my whole life. We have been blessed with an AMAZING marriage. So, here's to my best friend; The one I laugh with, live for, dream with, and love! Here's to us babe!
