Weekend at Whidbey Island

Cruise ships are seen all day coming and leaving

Some of the best fishing in the U.S. is right off the beach. There is a huge shelf filled with wildlife. We saw seals and dolphins feeding on fish.

My aunt Marlene and uncle Mike have a summer house up on Whidbey Island. We went up there this last weekend for a relaxing time. There home is beautiful and sits right on the water. We spent the weekend sunbathing and fishing. We caught several dogfish, but didn't keep any. Tess had fun with her grandma and cousin Britney. She also had fun playing with her toys out in the warm sun.

4 Months

Tessa turned 4 months old last Thursday. She had her 4 month Dr. appt on Friday. She weighed in at 12lbs 13.5oz and had grown another 2inches. Which, puts her just over 2 feet tall. She LOVES her bunny/blanket and has to be holding it when she's upset! She is changing every day. She is the love of our lives, and we are having so much fun with her! She has started on solids. So far, her favorites are sweet potatoes, bananas, and carrots. She has been practicing her sitting and is starting to get the hang of it. She's very curious and loves people! Her pediatrician had a concern about her hip, so we took a trip to Children's Hospital in Seattle where she had an ultrasound. All looked good, but we'll find out for sure tomorrow.

My sister Stephanie, who just moved to Seattle, brought over this cute dress for Tess. Tess showed us how much she liked it by drooling all over it. :-)

Like Mother Like Daughter....

I just couldn't resist painting Tess's little toe nails while she napped.

Free Stuff.....

I've joined this blog called thriftynorthwestmom.com. It's a great blog that a NW mom started to help other moms save money, get coupons, or free stuff. I just thought I'd pass the word along. This week I got a free potty training kit from pampers...a little early....but I'll have it for when Tess is ready.

"Life on Planet Mom"

So, I've been reading this great book called Life on Planet Mom....when I can find the time to read. The book is written by Lisa Bergren. It is one of the best books I've read. The author really understands motherhood and everything that comes along with it. It gives such good insight to your new life as a mom and how to deal with all of the changes. I love it and wanted to share it!

My first movie....

Tess watched the cartoon Open Season with us the other night. Boog was her favorite. She couldn't have popcorn, so she snacked on her fingers... :-)

I eat my food and wear it too.....

This last Monday we took another trip....this time it was a short one. We went down to Vancouver. Tim had some work to do down there, so Tess and I went along.

This was Tess eating her sweet potatoes...she loved them....this food is by far her favorite!

What is this stuff???

So, Tessa tried her first solid food the other day. This was her unsure about the peas face. She also tried applesauce and really liked it. Next week we'll try bananas and sweet potatoes.

I'm a big girl!

I sure love my daddy
For the 4th we took Tessa to the Wooden Boat show on Lake Union. She slept her way through most of the tour.
We also went to the Seattle Aquarium. She loved looking at all of the fish and sea otters. She had a big day and was very tired when we got home.

Some more pics

Even Tessa is glad to be home

We didn't have to worry about tornadoes in Montanna, just the bears...

Home At Last

Well, after being gone for a month, we are finally back home. What a treat to come home to nothing but sunshine. Tim finished his WELL earned engineering degree! He doesn't get the piece of paper until August though. I am so proud of him and all of his hard work. While working full time and going to school full time, he has also been an incredible husband and a great dad! Way to go babe!!

We had some pretty wild weather while we were in North Dakota. The last night we were there two tornadoes touched down. We were stuck in a basement for several hours waiting for the storms to pass and the sirens to turn off....what a crazy and scary experience.

These are just some pictures from our trip. I have to say the campus was beautiful! We did lots of walking while we were there....that's really all there was to do in Grand Forks, ND.
