Essential oils

My husband and I have become huge fans of doTERRA  (here is the link in case you are wondering about essential oils:  www.doterra.com). In fact, we've replaced just about everything in our medicine cabinet with doTERRA essential oils. We've treated fevers, stomach bugs, a dog bite, my asthma, migraines, and anxiety all with these oils.  I'm more into "all natural" than I ever have been.  With that said, I've either made or will make all of our own soap, body wash, lotion, hand sanitizer, bath salts, chap stick, deodorant (which lasts 48hrs and is the best I've ever used), throat spray, throat lozenges, bug spray, sunscreen, and play-Doh.  I will eventually post all of these recipes, but I'll start with the one that the kids really enjoy.

wild orange aromatherapy play-doh

-2 cups flour
-1 cup salt (I use fine sea salt)
-2 cups colored water (I used red/yellow food coloring)
-1 table spoon oil (grape seed, fractionated coconut oil, olive oil, or safflower oil will work)
Combine all ingredients over medium heat.  Stir over medium heat until mixture forms a ball.  Remove from heat and let cool on parchment paper. Once cooled kneed in 6-7 drops of your favorite essential oils. In this case, we used wild orange essential oil (we only use doTERRA oils because they are cptg). We've also made lavender play-Doh using red/blue food coloring and lavender essential oil. The girls love both.

January

January has been a pretty quiet month around the Bryan home.  We've been enjoying the snow, Tessa has been looking forward to her swimming lessons (aside from horseback riding, Tessa's next favorite activity is swimming), we've been planning our garden for spring, we finally got our greenhouse, we've been designing our root cellar, and spending a lot of time as a family. I love our little family, and I am so grateful for all the time we are able to spend together!

This girl is a big time bow hunter just like her daddy

Both girls love to color!  They will spend hours (no exaggeration) at the table coloring.  Tessa has been trying to teach her little sister how to write and spell.  It warms this mamas heart to see these two playing so sweetly together.
